The BIA counter issues licenses for:

⚠ Note: Driving permits for heavy vehicles and three-wheelers are not available at the airport.
What You’ll Need to Apply
To get your temporary Sri Lankan license at BIA, you must present:
A valid full driving license from your home country (learner, probationary, provisional or temporary licenses are not accepted)
A certified English translation if your license is in another language
A valid passport and visa
A foreign license valid for at least one year from the date of conversion
Your converted license will carry any restrictions noted on your home license (e.g., corrective lenses, automatic transmission, hearing aids).
